May 2010 was undoubtedly an historic month. Every facet of the General Election was covered in minute detail with Sky News championing their new HD service and the leaders debates playing a huge part in shaping the future of our new government. Social media was also vitally important with digital debates taking place via You Tube and groups such as “Gillian Duffy for PM” springing up on Facebook within minutes of one of the biggest PR howlers in election history. In the wider business and pr community video for the web is rapidly becoming a must have part of the communication process and we have been playing our part helping a wide range of clients to get their messages out there. Video Production: College Hill / Guaranty Trust Bank As sponsors of the new Fourth Plinth artwork currently residing in Trafalgar Square, the Guaranty Trust Bank of Nigeria wanted to maximise their exposure from supporting such a high profile piece of public art. Their PR agency College Hill commissioned VisualMedia to film the unveil and produce a b-roll edit for distribution to television broadcasters, and an online edit (for upload to YouTube as well as distribution to the online press), both of which were completed by 4pm on the day of the unveil. The b roll has been incorporated into news bulletins around the world and the online edit has been used by several online publications including on The Guardian’s homepage. Photography: Cake PR / PG Tips
Cake PR commissioned a VisualMedia photographer to be on location to document the ‘How do you describe the taste of a cup of PG?’ campaign event held at London’s Dorchester hotel. We spent some time with Al & Monkey before the event started getting some press shots, and then documented the tasting event. Images were wired back to the office from location, captions were embedded and then they were sent straight out to press. Coverage was secured in a variety of publications including The Telegraph and Delia Online. |

Video Production: Gorkana / The Sunday Times Business PR Breakfast Briefing
VisualMedia regularly films and edits the breakfast briefing sessions Gorkana host for their PR client base. Most recently we filmed a briefing given by two business editors from The Sunday Times newspaper which you can view here. We arrive half an hour before the briefing is due to start and set up a video camera set to capture a wide shot, and plug in to the venue’s audio visual system to ensure perfect audio for the final video (especially during the question and answer session). The edit is carried out the following day and the final film is hosted in chapters on our website. |

Annual Report Project: Whitbread PLC
Whitbread PLC enlisted Visual Media’s services to assist in assembling this year’s Annual Report which contained both a strong photographic element in the report itself, as well as a video to be used on their corporate website. We attended several creative brainstorms to finalise the style and ‘story’ the Annual Report wanted to tell in its imagery, and then spent a month visiting regional branches of Premier Inn, Beefeater and Costa Coffee shooting the required scenes and set ups. Once the images had been edited and safely delivered to the designers, focus shifted to the video. We spent two hours with Whitbread PLC CEO Alan Parker at the flagship Premier Inn in London’s Kings Cross and used the hotel foyer and the adjacent Costa Coffee as a backdrop to the interview and to film the all important cutaway shots. The finished film can now be viewed on the Whitbread website here. |
